Perhaps my first question is: If all you had access to was in-game content how would you even know that there was PvP gear you can buy? You get a quest at level 10, you enter Cyradil, do the starter quest and then start your AvA career. I didn't notice any in-game tutorial talking about PvP gear vendors, etc.

So could someone point me to a web page or summarize the following for me?

  • Where is "blackrose" gear? is that paid for using Tel Var stones or AP?
  • Is all PvP sets available at the same place? For example I want the Vengeance Leech jewlery. Is there a special vendor?
  • What are "boxes"? Are they filled with the full set? or is it RNG so you have to buy 50 boxes to get the actual set you need? Can you buy single items?
  • I heard someone talk about some weekly vendor that sells monster helms? Do you pay for that in gold, AP or Tel Var?
  • With any of these purchases do you get to chose the traits?

Thanks!

Let's see...if I screw up someone correct me.

Black Rose is sold at the Tel Var Armorer (Blue quality, CP150) or the Tel Var Greater Armorer (Purple quality, CP160) in your base in the sewers. I think it's 2k Tel Var for the blue, and 5k Tel Var for the purple. You can also get random traits from the Lockbox Merchant and the Greater Lockbox Merchant if you want something other than Impen, in the same location. I don't remember the prices.

Sets that drop in specific PvE zones are sold in boxes at your factions home area (the one without the bank I think) at the Zone Vendor (not called that but I don't remember exactly what the name is). Vengeance Leech is a Cyrodiil set and can be bought in boxes from the PvP Vendor or the Elite PvP Vendor in the same alcove of your factions home base.

Boxes are filled with a single piece of armor or jewelry or weapons (depending on the box) from a variety of sets that are specific to that box. The box specifies which sets are possible and their quality. You can't buy specific pieces or specific traits, all RNG.

The Golden Vendor appears on weekends and sells 2 Monster helms or shoulders (random) and 2 Legendary jewelry pieces (random). 100k gold or 200k AP for monster pieces, 250k gold or 500k AP for legendary jewelry. Traits are Infused on armor purchased with gold, Impen on armor purchased with AP. Jewelry traits are specific to the set.

  • There are also 5 towns in Cyrodiil that each provide about 8-10 free container boxes per day with these armor sets. They are usually green or blue but sometimes you get purple jewelry.

Cropsford (Light), Bruma (Medium) and Vlastarus (Heavy) are the larger towns. You can get the set items free by doing the quests or purchase them from vendors located here.

Cheydinhal and Chorrol don't have any vendors, but the quests here give random boxes from the sets in the other towns. I believe one town provides offensive sets and the other defensive, but not sure.

Just fixing this a little here. Those towns have 3 flags that need to be owned by your faction before you can purchase any goods from them and the bags/boxes are purple quality and cost 12k AP each. They are slightly better than the overland set vendors because they offer specific single sets. However, they are still RNG as to what single piece you'll get.

Honestly not sure why anybody spends AP to buy these bags when you can get them free from the quests (or buy the exact item you need with gold from guild traders). Usually try to save my AP for bind on pickup stuff like the monster helms.

    I'd suggest http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Sets.
Though the page for each set mentions how to obtain them, it doesn't tell you were the vendors are actually located.

Does the weekend vendor have a chance to sell legendary Vengeance Leech Jewelry? Or do they only sell legendary region/dungeon jewelry?
